This is the Australia & New Zealand Sodastream Adapter
It suits Blue Threaded Bottles - NOT Pink Quick Connect Ones.
Swapping back and forward between threaded bulbs and sodastream bottles is quick and easy.
- Ensure the seal is inside the adapter and not damaged.
- Screw the adapter onto the gas bottle loosely almost all the way then hold it.
- Screw the regulator onto the adapter finger tight.
- Use a spanner to tighten the last 1/4 turn of the adapter onto the gas bottle firmly to avoid losing any gas.
If your adapter comes with a tool (Allan key or screw driver) this is used to adjust the length of the pin that presses the valve on the gas bottle. The first time you use it you will need to set the length.
- Put tool into thin male end of adapter and unscrew the pin 3 turns (shorten it)
- Screw the adapter onto the gas bottle firmly.
- Use the tool to lengthen the pin till it touches the bottle valve.
- Remove adapter from the gas bottle and lengthen the pin another 1/4 turn.
SodaStream gas bottles hold 400g of CO2 gas and are easy to exchange anywhere from local shops.
This means one gas bottle holds the equivalent of 25 x 16g disposable cartridges.
They work out much cheaper than the disposable option, are better for the environment, but are not as portable or convienient.
Personally we use them for home, then take bulbs with us when we take the keg somewhere.
The Soda Stream bottle holds the equivalent of 25 x 16g disposable cartridges and can be swapped for a full one for $19 from your nearest retailer (see this map for your closest exchange location in Australia)
You can buy your initial Soda Stream Gas Bottle from us or from your closest retailer.
